Kathleen Humphrey - Associate

 Kathleen Humphrey is an attorney and registered nurse with over ten years of litigation experience who recently rejoined Sheuerman, Martini & Tabari. Ms. Humphrey is an experienced trial attorney in medical malpractice, including the representation of hospitals, physicians and nurses. She also has significant experience representing skilled nursing, residential, and board and care facilities.

 As an experienced registered nurse, Ms. Humphrey understands medical malpractice issues that require advocacy in our legal and medical system and is frequently consulted by other lawyers, as well as referred cases based on her extensive medical background. Ms. Humphrey has a deep understanding of the complexities of our medical and legal system and works zealously to represent her clients. Ms. Humphrey manages cases from beginning to end and aggressively defends her clients with a primary objective to obtain a speedy dismissal. Ms. Humphrey appreciates the impact of litigation on medical providers who are attempting to provide quality patient care and works diligently with opposing counsel to obtain prompt dismissals.

 Ms. Humphrey earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1993. Her undergraduate degree is in science and nursing. Ms Humphrey worked in a skilled nursing facility to finance her education and appreciates the difficulties care givers have in providing end of life care. Following her nursing degree, Ms. Humphrey managed an intensive care unit (both surgical and medical), surgical specialties, and has also worked in high risk labor and delivery units in Texas, Minnesota, and Michigan. She brings her insight, compassion and an unbridled determination to obtain the best possible resolution for her clients.

 Ms. Humphrey is a member of the California State Bar, Santa Clara County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court of the Northern District of California. And a member of the Defense Research Institute. She has two children, two kittens, and enjoys skiing, ice skating and music.
